Meet Cathy Kohlbeck, Houses of Honor® Founder
Cathy Kohlbeck has always been driven by a deep passion for giving back and serving others. With over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, she has dedicated her career to helping individuals and families achieve homeownership, save money through refinancing, and gain financial confidence. But Cathy’s commitment to making a difference extends far beyond her professional role—her heart for service inspired her to create something bigger.
In 2015, Cathy launched Houses of Honor®, a program designed to provide community heroes—military members, veterans, first responders, police officers, fire fighters, healthcare workers, and educators—with access to housing-related services at discounted rates. Over the years, the program has grown tremendously, now offering more than 50 different services across Housing, Lifestyle, and Maintenance categories.
One of Cathy’s biggest dreams was to gain nonprofit status for Houses of Honor®, allowing it to serve heroes in even more impactful ways. That dream became a reality in August 2024, opening the door to greater opportunities to give back to those who have dedicated their lives to serving others. Looking ahead, Cathy’s vision is to expand Houses of Honor® across Wisconsin, reaching more counties and more heroes in need. She is incredibly grateful for the network of dedicated business partners who share her mission and generously offer discounts on their services—because together, they are making a lasting impact on the lives of those who sacrifice so much for their communities.
